Web Design There is no secret in designing a good
homepage. But there are three components
that must not be missing: Creativity,
Inspiration, and a tint of Perfectionism. No
matter what tools or utilities you use, how
expensive or wired they are, no matter how
good your selling concepts or products
might be - ultimately, it's your creativity and
your inspiration that people want to see.
Also to remember, a good homepage does not come
overnight. The design of a good homepage evolves over time -
it is like designing a building, one has to consider its form,
function, context, interface, needs, values and usability. Unless you don't
mind living in paper boxes...

Is it an art? Or is it not?
Although the best homepages today are still ones that are
hand-crafted in native HTML codes, good web authoring tools
are beginning to surface - such as, Microsoft FrontPage and
Adobe PageMill. But that doesn't mean bare-handedly creating
a homepage in HTML code is history. The authoring tools are
here to help automating routine tasks - but creativity is still
yours, inspiration is still yours. In the same analogy, why do
people still like to buy hand-crafted furnitures or potteries?
